3 dagers solotur til Tydalsfjella. Jeg fikk oppleve de fleste årstider med regn og vind, snø og til slutt strålende solskinn. Den siste dagen fikk jeg også endelig muligheten til å bestige Fongen (1441 moh.). Fantastisk utsikt til Sylan!

Dag 1:
Start ved parkeringen ved Hoemskjølen i enden av veien til Hersjøen i Selbu. Gikk den T merkede stien over Vorfjellet (728 moh.)

Teltplass ble ved et lite lokalt vann litt vest for Leirholet (kvernsteinsbrudd). Fin utsikt mot Fongen. Noe vind, men med nytt telt gjorde det absolutt ingen ting.

Dag 2:
Neste dag våknet jeg opp til nysnø og grått vær. Jeg fikk pakket sammen utstyret og trasket bort til kvernsteinsbruddet. Jeg leste på baksiden av turkartet at det hadde vært aktivitet her i over 300

år (ca. 1600-1916). Det var opptil 300 mann som arbeidet samtidig ved bruddet i fjellet gjennom vintermånedene. Jeg tør nesten ikke tenke på hvilket blodslit det var når vinterkulda virkelig satt inn... Kvernsteinsburddene kan sees fra Flora til Store Kvernfjellvatn. Det er strekning på 15 km.

Noen kilometer før Shulzhytta ble jeg overrasket av 3 reinsdyr på nært hold. Shulzhytta var en koselig hytte med mange soverom. Veldig god plass for en selvbetjeningshytte å være med andre ord. Det fristet nesten å bli over natta, men det var vel tidlig å ta kvelden klokken 1300.
Kursen ble derfor satt videre på T-merket sti mot Gresslihytta. Gikk på denne til elva Fongåa. Derfra inn dalen sør for Litjfongen til foten av Fongen i ca. 700 meters høyde. Jeg satset på bedre vær for å bestige Fongen neste dag . Denne dagen var det helt uaktuelt. Skydekket hang på 900 meter.

Dag 3:
Jeg våknet tidlig til en nesten skyfri himmel. Nysnøen som hadde falt på toppene de siste to dagene lagde en fin stemning. Det var nesten litt høst i lufta.. Klokken 0830 tok jeg fatt på de 740 høydemeterne opp til Fongen. På vei oppover snørennene tenkte jeg på at her skulle jeg hatt ski eller brett på vei ned. Det var ypperlige forhold.
En drøy time senere sto jeg på toppen. Det er mange toppvarder på Fongen. For meg så det ut som varden i nord var den høyeste selv om den største varden sto i sør. Utsikten var fantastisk. I vest kunne man skimte Trollheimen med Snota, i nord Skarvan og i sørøst Sylan med den majestetiske Storsylen. Tenk hvor mange som ikke får oppleve en storslagen slik utsikt, eller som i det hele tatt vet at den finnes..!

Etter en halvtime på toppen bar det nedover til teltet for å pakke sammen og legge kursen hjem igjen. En drøy etappe ventet tilbake til Hoemskjølen. Det ble mye myrtråkking nedover Rotldalen. Fint landskap med noen idylliske grønne setervoller. Desverre var det en del merker etter motorisert ferdsel i området. Jeg er ingen fanatisk naturverner, men jeg mener og håper at slik ferdsel i naturen begrenses til et minimum, og bare brukes når det er helt nødvendig. Jeg passerte elva Rotla ved brua på DNT ruta Bangsetlia- Schulzhytta. Herfra bar det oppover lia forbi nordre Evjevollen og opp til stien som starter på nordre Røsetvollen. Stien var vanskelig å finne, og jeg kom ikke skikkelig inn på den før passeringen ved Storbekken.
Sinnsykt sliten var jeg tilbake ved bilen klokken 1840. En 10 timers dag kjennes virkelig på kroppen...
